What we collect when you get in touch, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Who we are
Page Cove is a web design studio based in Ontario, Canada. We build websites for businesses of all kinds. You can reach us any time at [email protected].
What we collect
What you type into our forms is what you give us. The site also uses analytics and advertising tags and a visitor alert, all listed on this page, to see how the site is used. When you fill in our contact form, we receive your name, email address, the name of your business, and whatever you write in the message. If you become a client and pay by card, the payment is handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
The website chat replies automatically. What you type into it is saved with our hosting provider, Cloudflare, so the conversation is still there if you come back in the same browser, and so a question the assistant can't answer can reach a person at Page Cove. To write each reply, the recent conversation (not your photos) is sent to Anthropic, which provides the service that writes the assistant's replies. If you give the chat your name, email or phone number, or press Send on a preview request, Page Cove receives those details, and a copy of a preview request also reaches our inbox through Web3Forms. Photos you add to the chat for your preview are saved with the conversation; your browser sends a smaller copy, which leaves out camera details such as where the photo was taken. We delete a chat, and its photos, 90 days after its last message. Please don't type passwords, card numbers or health information into the chat.
This website uses the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. It sets advertising cookies and sends Meta limited information about your visit, such as the pages you view and whether you submit our contact form. We use this only to measure and improve our advertising and to reach people who might want a website. We do not sell your information. You can opt out of personalised ads in your Facebook and Instagram ad settings, and you can block or clear cookies in your browser at any time.
This website also uses Google Analytics and Google Ads. Between them they record which pages you visit, roughly how long you spend on each one, how far down you scroll, which buttons you use, and whether you submit our form, so we can see which parts of the site are working and whether our advertising pays for itself. We never send Google what you type into the form, only the name of the field you were last in. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland have this storage switched off by default, because we do not advertise in those places. You can block or clear cookies in your browser at any time, and Google offers its own opt-out browser add-on for Analytics.
We also use Microsoft Clarity to understand how people actually use this site. It records a playback of the visit: the pages you open, where you scroll, and where you click or tap. We use it to find the parts of the site that confuse people, because a recording shows that in a way a chart cannot. What you type into our form is never recorded: Clarity masks the contents of input boxes in every mode, and we mask the assistant panel including its conversation and review, so your name, email and message do not appear in a playback. Microsoft processes this on our behalf. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are recorded without cookies and without being linked across visits.
Why we collect it
We use your details for one thing: to reply to you, build and discuss your site, and send you an invoice if you go ahead. We do not sell your information, and we do not add you to marketing lists you did not ask for.
Who we share it with
To run the business we rely on a few trusted services, and your information passes through them only as needed:
- Our contact form and assistant enquiries are delivered through Web3Forms, which forwards your message to our inbox.
- We use Anthropic to write the website chat's replies, so Anthropic receives the chat conversation.
- Card payments are processed by Stripe.
- We use the Meta Pixel for advertising measurement, so Meta receives limited information about visits to this site.
- We use Google Analytics and Google Ads to measure the site and our advertising, so Google receives limited information about visits to this site.
- We use Microsoft Clarity for session playback and heatmaps, so Microsoft receives a record of how the site was used during your visit, with form contents masked.
- We use ntfy to send ourselves a short alert when someone new visits, so ntfy receives the page you landed on, where the visit came from (another website, an app or a campaign link) and whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer. It does not receive your IP address or anything you type.
- We use ipapi.co to show prices in your currency, so ipapi.co receives your IP address to look up which country you are in.
- If you are outside Canada, the United States and the euro area, we use api.frankfurter.dev for exchange rates, so it receives a request for the rate between the Canadian dollar and your currency.
- We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and measure how fast pages load, so Cloudflare receives limited information about visits to this site, without cookies.
- Our website and your finished site are kept online by our hosting provider.
Some of these providers are based in the United States, so your information may be processed or stored outside Canada. We choose established providers and share only what each one needs to do its job, but we cannot control the laws of every country their servers sit in.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and client records for as long as we are working together and for a reasonable period afterward, mainly so we can answer questions and meet tax and bookkeeping requirements. If you would like us to delete your details and we are not required to keep them, just ask.
Your choices
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we will help. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
We keep your information on secure, well-established platforms and handle it with care. Payments run through Stripe, so your card details are encrypted and never stored by us, and we only hold the details we actually need to work with you.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page.
